A piece of Annapolis history changed hands this spring. Katcef Brothers, the beverage distributor founded in 1933, right after Prohibition ended, has been acquired by Mitchell Companies and folded into their Chesapeake Beverage brand, along with sister companies Montgomery Eagle and Capital Eagle. It's the first time the business has been outside Katcef family ownership since Samuel J. Katcef started it nearly a century ago. The company's roots run deep locally: it started in downtown Annapolis, moved to Parole in 1952, then settled off Defense Highway in 1979, where it's operated ever since, long known as the region's go-to distributor for Anheuser-Busch products, craft beer, wine, and spirits. Under Chesapeake Beverage, the business expands its reach into bars, retailers, and major venues across Annapolis, Montgomery County, and D.C.

7000 Arundel Mills Cir, Space 401, Hanover

Arundel Mills has a new way to spend a rainy Saturday. Great Big Game Show officially opened June 3 in Space 401, right next to Dave & Buster's, bringing a 60-minute, live-hosted "game show" experience to Hanover. Groups of 2 to 14 rotate through 17 different mini-games under the direction of a real host, think game-show energy without the TV cameras. Open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, it's shaping up to be a solid option for birthday parties, team outings, or a family night that doesn't involve a movie screen.

Taco a la Madre is opening its first Anne Arundel County location at Hopkins Place, its third overall after two Prince George's County spots. No opening date set yet — worth a follow-up closer to launch.

Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, 1403 South Main Chapel Way

Daytime breakfast and brunch chain First Watch is taking over the former Red Robin space at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, open daily 7am–2:30pm. It's the chain's third Anne Arundel location, after Annapolis and Glen Burnie.
